Squid grew up in a Berkshire village with her younger brother and enjoyed travelling and outdoor activities. She loved writing as soon as she held a pen and wrote her first scribble story in a calendar aged five, which she still has today.

Daryl Cox convinced her to change from Law to Creative Writing at the University of Exeter in 2009. She has never looked back since and her writing has gone from strength to strength.

Squid has had news, arts, travel and feature articles published online, in eBooks and in local newspapers. She has also published two articles in an academic journal and edited essays, chapters and ‘zines over the past five years.

Squid participated on a student-run literary panel that focused on ‘The Future of Literature’ in November 2011. She is a teacher and casual editor, and is writing a crime fiction novel called ‘The Death Code’, which should be finished by 2014.
